Fellow Designation

To be awarded to a PMAC member or others who have gained prominence in the business world through the field of supply chain management, and who, by their past or expected future achievements, serve as role models for others. The distinguishing qualities of an FPMAC are a demonstrated excellence in supply chain management, commitment to and pride in PMAC, and a civic-mindedness which brings a community’s respect to the member and, through the member, to the supply chain management profession.

Admittance to this "Fellowship" recognizes an individual who has rendered conspicuous service to the association, enhanced the supply chain management profession through their efforts or has made a genuine contribution of new knowledge to the field.

Attributes of an ideal recipient (FPMAC designation):

  • Reflects dedication, balance and achievements in career, PMAC and community
  • Leadership, significant participation or contribution in the development and advancement of the supply chain management profession
  • Leadership, significant participation or contribution to PMAC, in supporting the activities and governance of the association
  • Leadership, significant participation or contribution in the community-at-large through activities and community service

Examples: Introducing strategic supply chain management practices into an organization; Chair or member of a PMAC or Institute Board or Committee; Member of a community Board of Directors or advisory group of a hospital, post-secondary institution or charity.

The membership classification of "Fellow" of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada carries with it no special duties or rights. A recipient will be entitled to use the initials FPMAC following their name.

Who is Eligible? Any PMAC member or executive demonstrating supply chain leadership.

Who Can Nominate? PMAC members or Institutes.

How Many Awards? This award is based on the highest selection standards and may not be given every year.

IFPSM Awards

Each year the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management (IFPSM) confers awards in recognition of contributions made by individuals to the development of the profession of purchasing and supply management. We are pleased to announce that the PMAC Fellow Award winner will automatically be put forward for IFPSM's Garner Thémoin Award - Advancement of the Profession Award. IFPSM award winners will be announced in October 2012.
