Supply Chain Excellence

To be awarded to an organization that has used innovative strategic supply chain management to advance its competitive advantage, furthering an understanding of the value of supply chain management. The organization shall also show support towards PMAC's vision for the field of practice by assisting its employees as they pursue education through PMAC courses, seminars and conferences. The award will identify and celebrate leadership among employers of all sizes and sectors in building critical, strategic and dynamic supply chains that contribute to business success.

Whether by the implementation of an original supply chain practice or process, the application of a new technology, or the development and utilization of talent, the winning organization will have helped to promote supply chain management and bring heightened recognition to the profession.

Attributes of an ideal recipient (organization):

  • SCM Challenge/Opportunity – An SCM challenge or opportunity is clearly and convincingly defined
  • Goals and Objectives – Measurable objectives are strategically aligned with the organization's mission, vision and goals
  • Stakeholder Consideration – Views of key stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, colleagues, customers, community) are identified and considered
  • Solutions-focused – Strategic thinking, innovation and leadership in problem-solving are demonstrated
  • Implementation strategy – Initiative is effectively implemented and barriers to success overcome
  • Evaluation and Accountability – Verifiable results satisfy objectives, increase SCM effectiveness and advance competitive advantage

Examples: Implementing strategic sourcing; Creating a Chief Procurement/Supply Chain Officer role; Developing an online buying tool; Integrating suppliers into the product development process; Launching a green or corporate social responsibility program.

Who is Eligible? Any organization. The award will go to the President/CEO.

Who Can Nominate? Anyone, including self-nominations.

How Many Awards? It is the intention of PMAC to give one award based on the merits of the submissions.
