Membership growth is key to maintaining credibility as an association

The Purchasing Management Association of Canada exists to build leadership in supply chain management. We are an association founded by members, for the benefit of our members. During the month of March, we will reach out to the supply chain community to grow our membership. PMAC has developed various programs to help promote membership in PMAC, and call on all members to use the available tools to demonstrate to our peers the value of membership in PMAC.

This year, we are promoting High-definition Networking (HD Networking) - PMAC membership provides access to discounted networking events exclusively for supply chain professionals. By attending PMAC events, members meet valuable contacts that work in supply chain and who can be directly beneficial to their careers in SCM. When one compares a generic business networking event, where there may be a handful of SCM professionals, to a PMAC networking event, it’s as if you’re networking in high-definition.

As with so many other considerations, word of mouth is recognized as a leading tool in attracting new members to our association. In order to continue to be Canada’s leading Supply Chain Management association, we need to continue to grow our membership. Ideally, the more fields of practice we can reach out to demonstrate our representation of the full Supply Chain, the stronger our growth will be.

PMAC Members who successfully recruit a new member will be entered into a draw for a grand prize (valued at $5000) that includes: a trip to the 2013 National Conference (airfare, hotel, full conference registration), an iPad, and $500 or the equivalent in PMAC products/services.

In addition to this national initiative, check with your Institute for locally sponsored events during March designed to expose potential new members to the many benefits of membership. If there are events scheduled, take the time to reach out to your professional networks and extend an invitation to those who work in Supply Chain to explore PMAC.

Membership growth is key to maintaining credibility as an association, and of our internationally accredited education and certification programs. Let’s all make the effort to promote your association for all that it is!
