This program leading to SCMP accreditation is the most comprehensive in the field of supply chain management. It is balanced to deliver advanced supply chain management knowledge and high-level business skills. The Strategic Supply Chain Management Leadership Program (SSCMLP) is competency-based and participatory in nature with a focus on analysis, teamwork and decision-making.

The holder of the SCMP designation will be recognized as the strategic supply chain management professional who provides innovative strategic leadership to enterprises to achieve strategic competitiveness and a sustained competitive advantage. PMAC will be recognized as the leader in shaping the competencies of strategic supply chain management professionals.

Program Objectives

  • To develop a professional with the knowledge, skills and attributes relevant to the needs and expectations of the marketplace
  • To develop a professional with a unique and distinctive competence to differentiate the SCMP from others practising in the field of supply chain management
  • To build a critical mass of quality supply chain management professionals capable of surpassing customer expectations, and demonstrating throughout their careers, the competencies of strategic supply chain management professionals

Program Overview

The highly integrated Strategic Supply Chain Management Leadership Program consists of 8 Modules and 6 Interactive Workshops, followed by an In-Residence Week to reinforce learning. The concluding element of the program is a national Final Examination. A Practical Experience Requirement ensures SCMP graduates have real-world expertise.

The SCMP accreditation program is designed to be taken over 36 months, concurrent with full-time employment. It is taught at the management/executive development level by senior practitioners and experienced academics. Learning can be applied immediately in the workplace.

Prior to 2009, SCMPs completed the Principles-based accreditation program in order to earn their professional designation from PMAC.

External Recognition

PMAC's Strategic Supply Chain Management Leadership Program has been accredited by key outside bodies as meeting demanding national and international standards. Third-party accreditation such as this allows students, practitioners and employers to identify the highest quality programs.

International Federation of Purchasing and Supply ManagementThe SSCMLP is accredited by the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management as complying with its Certificate of Competence in Purchasing and Supply. PMAC's program is the only one in Canada to be accredited by IFPSM.

Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council National Accreditation ProgramThe requirements of the SSCMLP have been assessed as meeting the full standard of the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council National Accreditation Program. PMAC's programs were among the first group of programs to receive accreditation through the Sector Council.
