2011 National Conference

Over 600 of Canada’s leading supply chain professionals gathered in Whistler, British Columbia for the 86th Annual PMAC National Conference.

There were two new additions to the schedule aimed at encouraging member dialogue and active participation in the association. The Your Voice Member Dialogue and “So You Want to Be a PMAC Leader?” sessions were well attended, have created valuable feedback for PMAC and have inspired member involvement.

"I wake up everyday living and pursuing my passion!" These inspirational words from our first keynote speaker Ray Zahab started off the 86th PMAC National Conference, after which he proceeded to explain how he overcame impossible odds to run across the Sahara Desert.

During the many sessions delegates learned about fraud prevention from RCMP Cpl. Lloyd Schoepp, examples of simple cost cutting measures such as Southwest Airlines' million savings by not offering lemon slices on their flights, and confirmation at our session with three of Canada's top economists that if you have three economists in one room you will get three different opinions.

Conference delegates embraced social media this year like never before. The Twitter-sphere was particularly active as delegates shared their thoughts and photos from sessions and social events.

Valuable networking events also enlivened the conference program and gave delegates a chance to build their professional network.
