Two new awards to recognize visionary supply chain leaders
The Purchasing Management Association of Canada leads the promotion of strategic supply chain management and celebrates innovation in the field
Toronto - Two new Awards of Distinction have been created by the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) to recognize innovative leadership in the field of strategic supply chain management:
“With the growing impact of supply chain management on the bottom line, this was the right time to further highlight and celebrate advancements in our diverse and complex field,” said Chris Dodds, C.P.P., chair, PMAC Awards Committee. “Supply chain functions influence every facet of business. Showcasing and recognizing successful results will serve as a catalyst to drive even greater innovation in the marketplace.”
A candidate for the individual Outstanding Achievement Award, in addition to being a leader in the field who has made a measurable impact on the success of their organization, should also share PMAC’s vision of strategic supply chain management and be an advocate for education and professional development.
Examples of individual achievement worthy of recognition include:
Organizations nominated for the Supply Chain Excellence Award should demonstrate the innovative use of strategic supply chain management to establish or enhance their leadership position. The organization should also support PMAC’s vision for the field of practice by investing in employee development through PMAC education programs.
Achievements that exemplify supply chain excellence in an organization include:
“Supply chain innovation usually results in significant cost savings, increased revenue or some other quantifiable advantage for the entire organization. Our awards will set the benchmark for those achievements,” said Bob Dye, president, PMAC.
PMAC’s highest honour, the Fellow Award, resulting in the prestigious “Fellow of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada” or FPMAC designation, continues to be conferred on select supply chain management professionals for exceptional professional work, contribution to PMAC and service to the community.
Award winners will be publicly announced and honoured at the Board Chair Gala on Friday, June 11, 2010 during the PMAC National Conference in Regina. The nomination deadline for all awards is December 31, 2009.
