CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS


PMAC is inviting proposals for Education Sessions at our 2010 National Conference, Canada’s premier event for supply chain management professionals. The largest supply chain conference in the country, we bring together in excess of 500 delegates each year. As a presenter, you will have the opportunity to showcase your success, disseminate best practices and advance the profession by sharing your knowledge.

Conference Objectives

  • Offer an affordable education and networking opportunity through a national forum.
  • Update members of PMAC on new trends in the field of practice of strategic supply chain management.
  • Provide the latest intelligence on emerging general business management issues.

Delegate Expectations

  • Information and insights on new and emerging issues.
  • Fresh perspectives on perennial challenges.
  • Practical tools, tips and techniques to take away.
  • Knowledge and skills that will allow them to perform more effectively.
  • Motivation and inspiration.
  • Real-world best practices from leaders in the field.

Delegates are particularly interested in “practitioner case studies”. These can be from any sector or size of organization. What did you do? How did you do it? What were the lessons learned?

Who Attends

  • The country’s top procurement and supply chain management professionals – more than 50% of attendees hold a Director or Manager of Procurement/Material Management/Supply Chain title.
  • They represent a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, retail, technology, transportation, financial services, government, health care, education and natural resources. Organization size extends from small firms to large Fortune 500 companies.
  • Attendees have worked in the profession an average of 14 years, and the majority have their C.P.P. designations or are involved in our accreditation program.
  • We expect more than 500 attendees at the conference.

Session Format

  • Education sessions are typically 60-minutes long, including time for questions from delegates.
  • PMAC may request that a session be shortened, extended or repeated.
  • Session can be lecture, interactive or panel discussion.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES


Proposals should be submitted online or you may complete as a Word file attached to an e-mail and return to: Amanda Cormier, PMAC Events Manager, at acormier@pmac.ca; fax to 416-977-8886; or mail to 777 Bay St., Suite 2701, PO Box 112, Toronto, Ontario, M5G 2C8.

All presentation proposals should be in two parts.

Part A should include:

  • Session title – please be descriptive and creative
  • Key contact information: name, title/position, company, postal address, telephone, fax number, e-mail address
  • Presenter information – please provide complete names, including any degrees/designations you wish to have listed, title and company name.
  • If a co-presentation or a panel, please provide names and details for additional presenters.
  • Author(s) biography (75 words maximum) – this should be a high-level summary of who you are, what you do and major accomplishments
  • Two other conferences or events you have spoken at in the past three years

Part B should include:

  • Session title
  • Session overview – please provide a 50 - 75 word description outlining what your session will cover, why this is an important topic and the benefit delegates will derive.
  • Learning Outcomes – please list 3 bullets specifying the content to be delivered.
  • Intended format of the session – individual speaker, panel presentation, roundtable, interactive group discussion, etc.

The submission deadline is 5:00 pm (ET) on Wednesday, September 30, 2009.

Selections will be made by the 2010 Conference Committee based on a number of criteria, including topic, benefit to delegates and presenter experience.

We thank all those who submit proposals, however, only those presenters selected to deliver an Education Session will be contacted. We will notify you by Friday, October 23, 2009.
